NXUS The War Room Experience

NXUS was established with one clear goal: to provide businesses with the critical tools and real-time experience needed to effectively navigate a crisis. As crises evolve and become more frequent, from natural disasters to cyberattacks and reputational risks, it’s clear that traditional crisis planning alone isn’t enough. Businesses need to be prepared to make quick, informed decisions under pressure—decisions that can mean the difference between surviving and thriving.

At NXUS, we offer a fully immersive, hands-on crisis simulation experience, based in Tauranga’s CBD. Created by Scott Campbell, NXUS was developed to ensure that executives and communication teams are equipped with the skills and confidence needed to respond decisively in any situation. Our sessions are condensed into four hours but reflect the intensity and complexity of a real crisis unfolding over 24–48 hours, enabling participants to test their leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities in a controlled yet realistic setting.

Why NXUS Was Created

NXUS was born out of a realisation that many businesses were unprepared for the kinds of fast-moving, high-pressure crises that today’s world can throw at them. After working closely with a range of clients, our founder saw the gaps in traditional crisis training, which often lacked the real-world urgency and unpredictability that businesses face. NXUS was created to close this gap by offering a dynamic, practical training environment where teams can experience the realities of crisis management firsthand.

Our goal is simple: to provide a space where executives and their teams can make critical decisions under pressure, simulate real-world scenarios, and improve their ability to manage crises before they happen. We’ve integrated technology, team-based challenges, and media training into the sessions to make the experience as close to reality as possible.

The NXUS Difference

What sets NXUS apart is the real-time, multi-layered approach we take. Participants face a simulated crisis scenario—from natural disasters to cyber breaches—and are required to make rapid decisions as the situation escalates. Throughout the session, they must deal with breaking news, live social media updates, email chains, and phone calls—all designed to replicate the pressure of a real-world event.

But NXUS isn’t just about managing the immediate crisis. Our sessions also incorporate key elements of crisis communication, media relations, and internal team dynamics. Participants will be pushed to present to stakeholders, communicate with the media, and handle public scrutiny—all under the guidance of industry experts who provide personalised feedback and analysis.

Building Long-Term Resilience

At NXUS, we believe that crisis preparation isn’t just a one-off event. The skills developed during our simulations help build long-term resilience, enabling businesses to respond confidently and effectively to future challenges. By participating in our sessions, teams gain a deeper understanding of their own strengths and weaknesses, learning how to improve their internal processes and decision-making frameworks.

Our immersive, hands-on approach ensures that every participant walks away with practical, actionable insights that can be applied immediately. More than just training, NXUS is an investment in the long-term success and stability of your business.

Are you ready for the unexpected? NXUS is here to make sure you are.

'It's an amazing experience. Really immersive and got the adrenaline going. Good practice for the real thing"

"It was a really good simulation in that it tested our strengths and weaknesses and how we all connect together."

"Often past experiences create preconceived ideas about the way we should deal with things. That wasn't possible. We were more supportive of each other."

It is really good test of how you might handle it. But also those practice skills of how to handle interviews and being thrown things as well.  You can actually stop and reflect without it being a real life scenario."
